Maileet Guide
Topics -
Introduction -
Maileet is a solution for transferring files between people, regardless the file size or if the people are behind the strictest firewall. Maileet can transfer the file to many recipients where the sender uploads the file once. The principle behind Maileet is quite simple; it cuts any file size into little segments (2Megs max) and uses a mail server (SMTP/POP3) to transfer them to the peers. Since virtually every computer accepts emails, regardless of the firewall configuration, the file will be received by virtually any computer. On the receiver side, Maileet client downloads the segments and combines them back. Maileet has many features that help you manage the send, like queuing, pause/resume, session saving, re-send requests and more.
Some of Maileet unique features:
Works behind any firewall.
Can handle any file size.
AES Encryption.
One upload and multi downloads.
Optimized speed.
Low bandwidth usage.
In the following guide, we will teach you how to master Maileet features for the best results.
Interface -
Main Windows
The basic interface includes three main windows: Data Segments, Details and Emails on Server. The following is a short explanation about each window.

Emails on Server The following window gives you access to pending emails on your mail server. While using Maileet, it is highly recommended not to use any email clients. Maileet gives you the basic option to read and reply to pending email while you are sending or receiving files. Double click on an email to reply.

Main ToolBar
The main toolbar gives you control over Maileet. Using this tool bar you can use almost every feature Maileet has to offer.

New: Use this button to start a new session. A session could be either receive or send. Depending on the mode you are in, a new dialog window will open with the necessary fields.
Open: Use this button to open a saved session or Maileet. A saved session could be either receive or send.
Save: Use this button to save a session. Once you saved a session Maileet will auto save the ongoing status of the session, either in receive or send mode.
Start: Use this button to start a session. You have to click on the start button in order to start both the send and the receive session. Maileet will not receive or send a file unless you clicked on this button.
Pause: Use this button to pause a send session. Maileet will finish sending the current segment but will pause the session right after. You may resume the session by clicking on the start button.
Stop: Use this button to stop the session. This will reset the current status of the session so it might be a good idea to save the session before you use this option.
Send Mode: Use this option if you are interested in a send session. In a send session you can send files to the recipients.
Receive Mode: Use this option if you are interested in a receive session. In a receive session you can receive files from a peer.
Settings: Use this button to enter the configuration panel of Maileet.
Popup Menues
There are two basic popup menus, one for the receive
session and one for the send sessions. The following is an
explanation about each menu.
Receive Menu
Re-Request Missing Segments: Use this option if you didn't receive certain segments and the sender has already sent them. By using this option, you are asking the sender to re-insert your email address to the queue.
Ask Peer to Stop Sending Segments: Use this option if you decide you don't want the file the sender is sending you and you want him to stop sending the segments. This will remove your email address from his queue.
Scan Outlook Inbox for Segments: This option scans your outlook client for Maileet segments. If it finds segments of the file you are receiving Maileet will treat them just as if it was received from the mail server. It is possible to leave outlook open and after all the segments are received open Maileet and scan the inbox.

Simple E-mail Client

While using Maileet it is highly recommended not to leave any email client open. If you do wish to leave one open, configure it not to automatically receive mail from the server.
While you are using Maileet for a send or receive, Maileet gives you the option to see and reply to emails on the server. Just double click on the subject and you can reply to the email.
